I called a local real estate attorney and he advised against it.

So it’s in your best interest to maximize profits in the rental property and minimize profits in the property management company This is great advise.

People smarter and more sophisticated than me in business law have advised that there are 1000 ways to pierce the shield of an LLC.  

My advise would be to get into that first job and give it a few months to make sure that you like it and are happy enough that you know you will want to stay for a couple of years.

Someone advised me to quit residential rental properties and focus on strip malls.

I generally advise my clients to skip properties that are near main street traffic or commercial buildings/stores.
