Again, back out the numbers. what's a rental rent for in the area for a similar property?

My front is similar with packages delivered most days and being very confident if delivered to the front door that they are very secure.

I'm in a similar position as you. 

I am making an offer soon that I hope is similar (near retail at slight discount rate) that is class A unit in a vacation market.  

But overall, I agree with you that people who can figure out how to purchase, should because they'll pay similar in monthly expenses and get the benefit of owning a place.

@Ramada EvansBefore putting in any offers, I would make sure you know what the going rate is for a 12-month lease in your neighborhood, for a similar property (in its current condition and if you updated it).
