Having said that, base on my research at the time of this incident I did learn that once someone, other than the owner, files for adverse possession, the owner is notified by mail.

For us the total cost of the flood incident was, under $500, i did not include the price of the new floor because we were about to replace that anyway.

The owner got a decease and desist order from the state utility commission.Another incident was an HOA sharing utilities with common areas with tenant/owners, someone complained, they were ordered by the commission to meter separately and fined them administratively.

I lost a friend to a domestic incident so I have no sympathy to men that can't control their emotions.Go after the nut if you want but it sounds like he is a piece of garbage, unlikely to take responsibility.
