Journalism is a noble profession, but often when writers are covering complicated, multifaceted subjects like real estate investing, they come across as authorities on the subject by virtue of the context - It's printed in the WSJ afterall- but the writers are covering the topic as "tourists", writing about a subject that they have very little first hand experience with.
