@Lydia Bolling most of the hard work can be done anywhere you have an internet connection so your lunch hour and after the kids go to bed are perfect times to do research, if you don't have enough time maybe the solution is to narrow the search so that you have less properties to sift through

I want to learn everything about a house, I don’t want to be the typical narrow minded real estate agent.

A lot of things I didn't take into consideration.Area is class C between B and D neighborhood, I'd say closer to D.

A 30' wide lot being 8' or so narrower and eliminating the driveway is big. 

Unfortunately, prices in my area are crazy, so we narrowed it down to Jersey City, Union City or West New York.
