First off, you should get with either Keller Williams or Coldwell Banker, they are generally regarded as the largest/most successful brokers in San Diego, but if you find a good mentor elsewhere and can get some 1 on 1 attention starting out, that's good too.

Good luck finding a niche in the market, but taxes in long island must make it difficult to be profitable for landlords.

Intel had a well publicized layoff .. and is the largest employer in Oregon.. but like this.. there employees are spread all over it equated to 600 jobs.just a blip really and not an economy changer..
