So, I said I am willing to provide my bank statement to fulfill that "Verification of funds within 5 days".

From a legal standpoint, the seller and seller's agent essentially said "I agree to sell you this property that you have indicated you need to owner occupy, but I am not going to do it in a way that will allow you to fulfill the legal requirements of your financing."

If it's just for "stuff" and money that is probably not deep enough... but if your why is to live a fulfilled life and having experiences that provide true happiness a very short delay is nothing.  

Assuming you're operating under chapter 83 landlord-tenant statutes, then your written lease typically takes precedent over what the ramifications are for not fulfilling the lease.

@Curt Davis  also its not like the lifelong renters are all of a sudden going to qualify for loans anytime soon either.. there is just such a huge swath of folks living in the mid west and deep south that simply will rent their whole life as in they have really no asperations to ownout here in our area owning a home is aspiration number 1  for the majority of folks.
