This is very much a "start from scratch" propersition.First question - Small brokerage or big franchise? 

Some brokerages won’t allow the same agent to represent both sides so they’ll have another agent in the same brokerage office represent the buyer.

Right now I'm building a brokerage on top of my other passive income streams (coaching, property management, and property ownership).  

Your wife's broker will likely dictate this in the brokerage policy manual. 

From the day I became licensed it was approximately 6 months until my first closed brokerage transaction and saw any kind of commissions due to the license.This is where the "reserves" part of the conversation come in.

I currently work for a brokerage not my own.
