Come to find out, the thermostat was fried so I had to replace that and a gas line to the stove.

I also leave extras for my guests because things do happen over time (thermostats, smoke alarms, remotes, extra trash, spills, snow/ice, etc.).

Hi,I'm not sure if this is the right section of the forum to post this question, but wanted to know if anyone has experienced this or have knowledge that they could share with me.My rental unit is a 2 floor house with separate thermostat on each floor with one HVAC unit.

Is there any thermostat I can purchase that is lockable or I can program to keep the temperature within a certain range? 

The way this property is set up is there is one gas furnace and one unit has a thermostat so they would control the heat for both units.

One thing I’ve done is create a trigger that fires off two hours before the guest is set to check in which automatically sets my thermostat to the appropriate setting.

They had to replace HVAC air handle fan relay, thermostat, bad wires which ended up to be $316.25.

There's a thermostat and element in each.

Just for the 2 units that in my mind were rent ready (have needed plumbing work in both). 1 water heater wasn't working (not producing any hot water, eneded up replacing 2 thermostats and a lower element). the other one required a new dub drainage connection (it was completely rusted / corrosive damage and was leaking into the basement. luckily this was on the first floor.
