The sewer pipe would cause me pause.

For years I've read countless opinions and articles about "good cause eviction," quietly dreading that it would eventually be the law in NY.

The options they gave us were 1) leave the panels in place but get no benefit and do no harm to them 2) purchase the panels (we were quoted the full retail price which is ridiculous) 3) sign a new agreement IF AND WHEN we wanted to.

A tenant that "eventually" pays isn't a good tenant and will "eventually" cause you bigger problems, as you are now learning.

Plus if some of the older tenants have been there a long time, don't cause trouble and are stable there is a benefit to that and not just having all new tenants in a property.

I knew those many tenants leaving would cause a problem for less experienced landlords.
