Ask for owner references too.Be wary of online reviews as disgruntled tenants will leave dishonest reviews if they get evicted or charged late fees. 

You'd either have to send a really low offer assuming a full gut renovation/worse case scenario which seems like it would just scare people off, or you'd have to send an offer that was high enough to generate some interest and then most likely work it down later after you get info on repairs/renovations needed which is just a dishonest bait and switch type tactic.

I don’t know how to make someone disclose information, but I find it very dishonest.

The Short Term Shop set us up with a realtor from their team that was never available, didn't return calls or respond to messages for days, and was dishonest when relaying our criteria and communication back to Luke and Avery.To be fair, when we posted on BP and interacted with Luke or Avery, they responded immediately with curtesy and the realtor from their team got in contact with us right afterwards.

When you ask them questions and look at them straight in they eyes and their eyes dart left, right, up or down, they look away or put their head down, rub their head, etc. and answer.You know at that point they are generally dishonest and their brain is thinking about an answer to scam you.

Im a truthful person because when I start to try and make up a story, omit details or paint it in a different light, people can sense when youre being dishonest.

Sense you have shade tree lawyers and the Internet you will always have dishonest tenants regards how well you screen them.
