I wanted to create an STR experience and bring my bold ideas to life.

The fire insurance companies dropped policies holders when they knew the fire was coming, in some cases, they're not even paying the full amount, and there's the case where some people didn't even have insurance.For those people who just want to walk away from this entire experience, is it possible that  morally-driven wholesalers can help them in a situation where not only the California government failed them, but also the Insurance companies?

@Stephen FlemingFrom my experience working with over 400 investors, your strategy of leveraging a low mortgage rate, tapping into home equity, and diversifying with a short-term rental (STR) in Northern Michigan is well thought out.

From personal experience, I would recommend Tulsa or Oklahoma City.

Ask how many units they manage and how much experience they have.

I certainly want to err on the side of caution in terms of investing in a pricier asset (at least in my RE experience thus far). 

@Chris Seveney While I'm not at that level to be able to provide personal experience I will follow to see what others respond with.One question I would have is, 'What is your current loan volume today?'   

I am starting my first househacking deal this year and I will Segway that into my second deal by end of 2025.I would love to hear all you experts and pros with experience to tell your story.
