I'm on the overly analytical side of things and start with the wall up before jumping into any deal or relationships for partnerships.

What I'm really doing is creating a "workshop" space that's part of the house that can be used towards a business write off, but can also be easily converted to living space with plumbing/wiring already installed in walls/floors.

My attached casita is part of my primary which share one mailbox down the street on a standalone wall amongst grid of other residents mailboxes. 

Also putting the numbers in, the rental income should give us maybe $400 -$900 profit a month once both are rented.Our lender and realtor seem to think we are crazy because the property needs floors, walls etc etc to be completed.

Google 'framing a window' and there will be lots of photos of how the studs in the walls should look-none of them should be floating in the air.

I.e plants, small area fence, extension to your wall, piece of wood etc.

I'm not just talking matching bed spreads with a wall mural, but more like a castle bed that you can walk into with a slide, for example.
