Its gotta be a dual zone system, then the FAU actually operates as 2 separate HVAC systems. 2 thermostats etc.

This list will probably grow, but I've used this list so far:During cooler-weather months, never set the thermostat below 55 degrees Fahrenheit.

We have been diy all the renovation stuff, and my husband has a construction background.I'd like to be able to have each floor have control of their own temperature- both in that they'd have their own thermostats AND that one unit could kick on their heat without it blowing in the other unit, as well.

There's corrosion present, an inoperable thermostat, and it's about 20 years old at this point.

I found nothing really wrong, maybe operator error with the thermostat or just scatterbrain.

Turn the thermostat to 85 degrees make sure working properly.

Sometimes I'll buy the tune up kit for $30 and replace the elements and thermostats if I think that's the problem and I do that while there's still water in the tank.

Just looking for any advice: a tenant in our triplex wants to install a programmable thermostat.
