I’ve been scanning listings and running numbers on a few houses but havent 100% grasped the concept of it all.

Currently, I am doing 1 analysis per day while learning the concept and lingo behind real estate investment on the side while working full time.

But my concept, if you are going to spend 10k marketing in finding one deal instead give up that 10k with wholesaler who finds that deal for you.

Step up in basis is a concept that is triggered at someone's death.

My construction management and cost estimation background has brought a lot of value to my craft and understanding of the real estate process (although there are 1000s of other concept that I am learning everyday).Today is my first day with the Bigger Pockets family and I have heard great things about this social network and I am willing to connect with the like minded people via this platform. 

I understand the basic concept, but definitely need to learn the ins and outs. 

I am just trying to get into the mentality of the the investors that I am working for and info or general concepts help.

@James Masotti that gave me plenty to digest, appreciate that mentality shift and giving concepts rather than a cliche one-liner.

I'm assuming its the same concept in RE, only difference you can lose alot of capital not knowing.
