I hear the argument that maybe I'll start splurging money out of boredom which I guess I'll have to be aware of. 

Just need to convince my fiance that a plex makes sense and no need to splurge on our own place just yet. 

If times are tight, they might not be going overseas this year but they’re still gonna splurge for the big bear trip at a muuuuuch lower price point.

I would splurge a little bit more to get in a nicer area of Lakewood. 175k is a good budget hopefully you can find something.I know you are renting it out but I like to make sure I buy houses I feel comfortable in.

@Scott McCurley I’m not sure what your area is like, but if you’re in a nicer area, I’d probably splurge for the nicer pine doors.

I splurged on a new M3 for my 40th and buyer's remorse hit pretty quick.  

And if you splurge on a McMansion, or pay high rates, it might never make sense.
