From what I can tell, Charleston is considered a Growth market, Columbia an Income Market, and Greenville appears to be a hybrid (this is what I'm looking for). 

We have one property in a local market but are looking to expand into markets that have more promising outlooks (Population growth, jobs, etc)

Plus, you get amazing appreciation potential due to how much population growth, job growth, and companies moving and developing here.

You’re in an ideal market for growth—DFW is full of active investors and countless networking opportunities through local meetups.

Significant and sustained population growth with a metro population >1M.

While I've never invested personally in Detroit, my usual word of caution to investors in these "lower cost" markets is that while cashflow is great on a % basis, make sure to look at the actual quantity of cashflow. 

Since you're looking to house hack, both Central Florida and Tampa have strong rental demand, but Tampa has been seeing significant growth and appreciation.
