They are starting to crack down on this.From Forbes "Abuse of the tax benefits of conservation easements has reached a fever pitch as easement donations are now syndicated at multiples of nine to one and above.

I do not know the source of their funding but if they received donations for aids and are using it for this, then that would seem to be inappropriate use of funds.  

I get so many unsolicited texts from buying my property, to voting, donations, etc.

I have been a guest at the Portland REIA's a few years back and my talk was on the new dodd frank and NMLS rules... well one of the regular's did not agree and was giving the folks horrible advice.. but of course him being a big shot and there every week and its what the people wanted to hear my talk was useless  LOL.. was not what they wanted to hear.the people that run them get a lot of leads coming their way and that is the benefit of donating their time..

And I think she might have donated 250 or 500.00 cant remember.. but it was a win win. u just dont give out this information for free..

Something to consider is to "donate" a portion of the rent they can't cover if you need a tax write off.

Lots of contractors donate their unused/used materials there.

Same with a celebrity like Jay you donate $100 to the charity for the access.

Tell him Boeing needs it for the 800Max and as a good citizen (that he is) he should donate it.

@Nicholas AiolaQuestion, if you have old antique furniture that was bought for $13,000 in your primary residence and want to donate it (assuming you are itemizing anyway) can you deduct the original purchase value if you still have receipts from many years ago?
