Aaron Gorum General Contractor in Newport RI Area
16 July 2019 | 2 replies
@Aaron Gorum I don’t have anyone really on that side of the state, but if you used a RI agent to buy the house you might try asking her/him for recommendations and then talking to previous clients, BBB, the RI contractor registration board, etc. to check them out. There are a few members of RIREIG who hail from Newport/Portsmouth so if you don’t come up with anyone from here or your agent let me know (or maybe attend a meeting) and we can make some inquiries.Lastly, the Fall River / New Bedford area is actually pretty close, arguably closer than Providence for some contractors, so if you have to look around yourself you should consider potential contractors from the Fall River area too IMO.Just make sure anyone you hire is licensed and insured to do work in RI.

If I were looking for a policy I would directly ask about those perils I've listed and you may come to the conclusion that a $800 policy is better than a $500 one because the $800 covers most perils while the $500 one covers maybe only fire, smoke, lightening, wind, and hail.
William Huston Investing: Sell or not to Sell and repurchase?

Its a 2/2.5 unit that has been easily rentable due to location near a military base for $850/month, but since 2009 the HOA has increased from $161/month to now $286/month, so profit has been slowly reducing on the property from that aspect, secondly since 2009 we have had multiple hail storms cauising major roof damage, which resulted in a few K in special HOA fees to cover the repair cost, thirdly a few months back one of the townhouses in the area had a major kitchen fire and due to the townhouses all being wood built, it spread and burned down all 50 units in the row of units before the fire was under control.
