I had trouble finding a bank that would do two dwellings and ended up with a loan requiring 25% down and a few upfront points with 7.5-8% interest rate depending on lock in day.

My son and fiance had trouble finding a place.

@Bill B. for context, the home is in a dedicated STR community, so it's safe to say there's a 0% chance of running into troubles like you mentioned in Oahu or Las Vegas.Also, like I said, those numbers are 100% made up on the spot.

Windows are completely blacked out, big time security measures are in place - including bad butt dogs and fencing - and that any neighbor is too great a risk.

Rail road doesn't go thru this land, it's just running along on the side and there is wire fence in between.
