EDIT: now saw Chris reply minutes ago, so what he said LOLYUP you have two bummers in one deal.. you have dead beat seller ( not always of course but if your talking these low value beat up homes in semi hood areas then yes) and you have the marginal borrower you described.. so since title stays with the dead beat original owner who knows what mayhem they could cause to the title and force you into a foreclosure or quiet title just to remove their crap.. in the right circumstance they are OK know the owners well know the borrowers..

I spend more than $100,000 every month at construction supply houses and never heard that my supply house owes me better prices.I think many landlords have some serious guilt problems with it comes to making a little profit and the worse part is; many landlords give their tenants special low prices and the tenants crap all over the landlords, move, ANYWAY, and think they have the god-given right to walk away from a unit they thrash and not pay one penny for the damage.

That said, I still have LOVED my personal house-hacks and most of the ones my clients have done because the numbers tell a beautiful story and being able to eradicate your cost of living is to-date one of the most powerful financial levers I know of.Single family homes can still make a workable house-hack and the magic of it really comes at the bookends price-wise.

, they probably will not be able to convince them, because that person in management already knows every single thing that I just wrote, and doesn't give a crap about the former barista, since they're slated to be laid off the moment rates go up another notch (the barista-turned-LO does not know this, but at least now you do), so why do them a favor?
