Leveraging technology and all the tools available today, you can hire anyone, regardless of location IMO. 

You are also somewhat at the mercy of the contractor you end up going with, which is a slight concern given the difficulty of finding good contractors.

Or Bill Gates (90 Billion) (number 2 in the world) who made his fortune in technology at Microsoft, or Walmart which three of the family members are all in the top richest in the world own shares, or Mark Zuckerberg who owns shares of FB.  

At no point in human history has the advancement of technology caused a net drop in jobs.
