Usually wise to follow the big players.MMJ has brought a lot of people to Denver, just as technology brought a lot of people to Silicon valley.

Just an observation:  Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties are very similar to Silicon Valley and the surrounds - - very expensive and difficult to get your foot in the door. 

If not architect should be sufficient.Not familiar with OC pricing.I’m in Silicon valley, my structural engineer did both my structural calcs and arch drawing for $6500.Hope that helps.

Indeed even the Bay area and silicon valley has seen its share of ups and downs over the last few decades 89 to 94 saw some drastic retreat in pricing of the higher end some of it 50%  .

Buying for appreciation is OK if you are in Silicon Valley etc.

In my case, I really liked my job, the sector and the travel that went with it (IT management for a global investment bank after a career in Silicon Valley).

I’m not sure if you’re thinking this could be a Silicon Valley high growth start up but this sort of sounds like a solved problem.

@Bruce Lee   Techonology is mostly centered around Richardson, Plano, Frisco.....but there is some spreadout over the Metroplex.TI is based in Richardson near 635/75 for example.What we call telecom corridor is around Richardson....more or less 75 between Spring Valley and George Bush tollway.Just depends on what tech you are thinking of....some data centers south of the city...some west.Dell in Plano, Sabre in Southlake, Real Page in Plano, Accenture...everywhere, Goldman Sachs probably in downtown Dallas, ubertech in Deep Ellum, Microsoft in Irving, ATT in downtown Dallas, Solera in Southlake, Mercado Labs in downtown Dallas, you've also got big tech contingents at Capitol One, JP Morgan Chase, Deloitte, Palo Alto Networks, etc.Lots of people think of Silicon Alley, Seattle, and Austin as tech centers of the universe, but Dallas is strong....TI was probably one of the first IC chip companies is based here and EDS was started here, sold to GM, reinvented as Perot Systems, sold again....to Dell....but still have strong presence here.
