Collecting rainwater for use in your house or garden is illegal here in CO, and I suspect it is in AZ, too.

I'd say that Steve's method is probably a better bet, unless the apartment building is garden style where you've got access to all the doors.

However, I'm still inclined to use handymen, unlicensed workers for simple jobs like gardening, simple landscape improvements, interior paint (single story, low ceilings only), drywall repairs, etc.

When you say tree pruning I assume you mean large shade type trees, not just smaller or decorative trees that could be handled by the gardener/landscaper.

Third, I have a store of food and know basic garden growing and home canning techniques.
