Both my mother and grandfather have rental properties but I never really thought it was feasible for me to get into real estate.. but when I started thinking about why I can't do it, I couldn't come up with any good answers!

They felt too under the water in California and could barely pay for their school loans while living with their mother and pretty much didn't have a real chance to get into real estate while living there.

Working with a seller in DC that is acting on behalf of his mother who has dementia and is in the hospital.

The place is barely livable, has a lot of back taxes, and ownership was never transferred when their mother passed.

Everyone and their mother knows 2 or 3 realtors already, so you have to put in the extra time and show value to your clients.

This house is perfect for them as they also have their mother with them, VERY nice people.

The neighbor is going to be selling house anyway. the reality is the your moms house is grandfathered in.. the only issue would be if it burnt down.. you would then have to rebuild based on the set backs as dictated in the zoning code.. so its really a non event for your mother.. 

My wife and I have just finished converting our mother-in-law suite into a cozy little studio apartment, we threw it on Airbnb and it is getting booked up like crazy.
