The process can be frustrating at times. 

It’s a good gig and can be fun but it can also be very frustrating.

If they are inherited, they knew the situation long before you did, and are just trying to give you a hard time as the new owner.I would explain to them that it's the municipality's rule, not yours - and despite the fact you are just as frustrated - you, just like your tenant, are powerless to change the situation as you must abide by the existing rules and laws.If the tenant is claiming that this was not disclosed up front during lease-up, offer to let them out of their lease early.  

Which is frustrating to hear for someone who has never done a deal. 

Plan B, for after you get frustrated trying to get them out, is to grind the heads off with an angle grinder and then replace whatever is under them.

To explain my parents situation, they tried investing in rentals but soon, became the frustrated landlords that you always hear about on the podcast, making all the typical mistakes, to their eventual forbearance of their real estate investing goals.
