I wouldn't even drive the X to the mountains because it's 400 miles each way, would have to stop to charge in both directions, and cannot match the 4x4 of a winter-equipped Tundra.

I would also pay a great deal more for someone else to perform that work than it would cost for me to do it myself.In order to do some of this work myself, it would require me to purchase equipment (i.e. trailer, lawn/snow removal equipment, etc.).

If we're going down the ethnic road for advice on how to build a house, it would probably be best to consult a German - lol.While I share your passion for doing things right and making things right when they're wrong, that's original equipment (not the device probably) and the decision to not replace the bracket that holds the wires and acts as middleman for the ground is not a bad one IMO, a decision that many people make, including electricians.
