I was hoping someone would have started a thread on this already but....What are your thoughts on the new proposal for monitoring transactions over $600, and how could this affect real estate investors??    

Sounds like there are things you need to update (grounded incorrectly) and things to monitor (fuse box) that could wait for a full update.

Also, even a 20 year old roof that most people would think needs to be replaced by the 25 year mark can often be nursed along well beyond that by monitoring it and doing minor repairs.

If it hasn't caused any major problems and does make s*** run uphill, I would monitor and let it be unless you just want to fix it and not have to think about it again.

Plus, who would be around to even monitor the work he may or may not be doing? 

Assigning of contracts like most wholesalers do adds a lot of liability for big name brokerages since nothing is on the MLS and much of it rests on the ethics of the agent, far too much to monitor for the big names.
