@Brady MillerA Solo 401k could not interact in any way with a Company B/lending entity if you are involved personally with, funding, or receiving compensation from Company B.The Solo 401k could basically be company B, with no need to form a company.

Unless I'm mistaken, the option to use Blended Retirement System (BRS) only makes sense if you're planning on separating before 20 years AND you REALLY like the Thrift Savings Plan (TSP).

But it's a blended portfolio trying to average 7% or so.......now, compare that with your expected real estate returns and see what gives you a better return on your money.If you pay cash for one rental, and earn 6% return.......compare with instead, buying 4 rentals with 25% down, and 75% mortgage....your now making way better returns on the "leveraged basis".

I think that doing so at least once gives you an unparalleled perspective and world view that you carry with and draw upon for the rest of your life.As for your situation and major life decision, it sounds like you should talk to a lender and first off confirm you are where you think you are financially.
