If a property has been uninhabited for 5-6 years because we were waiting for the housing market to go back up before selling, is this property considered to be for investment in which case it would qualify for a 1031 exchange?

It is on an island where people tend to pay more to be isolated from many of those things.

Hey everyone, Just starting out in a tough market in Long Island, New York and after reading tons of posts, listening to podcasts and getting my real estate license, I think i'm suffering from analysis paralysis on what my first investment should be as a home flipper.
