While the Swedes eschew closed cell foam (they see rock wool as producing a healthier living environment), if one were to used a closed cell foam it would be possible to produce wall assemblies of R70 or more)I have yet to find a build using Nordic/Swedish framing in Canada - I do know of one in Minnesota, U.S.A. - but, there must be some out there.

@Molly Jacobsen thank you Molly - I am finding out that private flood insurance DOES exist - so I'm very happy - and you're right - I do need to wait till policy ends to renew but that is OK - I got quoted some great prices that may shave off almost $100 / month when I can switch over - that equates to more cash flow - dollar for dollar.
