The only exception (and I'm sure we agree here, too...) is that even if you aren't in a great financial position, you should still house hack.

Honestly- if you aren't getting inquiries, you are priced too high.

If anyone stays beyond 10:30 AM I was authorized to call 9-1-1 and someone would be there to arrest Tresspassers.I actually gave them til 7:30 PM the first night before locking the door, and then I even came early to open the place up at 7:30. 

I'm not looking to buy more until cap rates from rents (on properties that aren't more than 20 years old) are higher than CD rates. 

And we aren’t in a sellers market.  

The owner is okay with me contacting the mortgage company and getting authorized to get their loan information so that I can make the purchase happen. 

Apparently, the Chicago Housing authority provides a one time incentive equal to the first month rent to first time owners participating in the program.

If they aren't actually filed, there is no way to recoup money through the normal mechanisms. 

. $50+K is too much damage to not do anything especially if he is a person in a position of authority and can cause problems for others.I'm curious.
