Now in the $40's.My gut feeling is that there are 10 times (or More) folks with under $1000 in savings than those with "hundreds of thousands" due to not making their mortgage payments.disclaimer- I have no proof of the last sentence- much like other lines in this thread.

I believe that to be accurate, there should be a few words preceding the quoted sentence above: "When computing reserves, I believe they will allow you to use 70% of your IRA balances."
