There are too many ways for it to go sideways and only one way for it to work (you stay on good terms with your ex and everything goes perfectly with the house, you split the proceeds fairly when you sell).

To be fair, I've never actually met anyone who says they've had a note called for this, but it is clearly in the loan docs and is the right of the lender to do so, should they choose.Cheers!
