Basements, so I'm in CA and basements are not a thing...anything key to be on the lookout for?

I am an investor in CO and we're doing a garage conversion including the room above the garage and that is looking like it's going to be 150k but that is for about 800 sq ft including some foundation work, adding a full bath, laundry hook up, and kitchentte. 90-100 seems high for 330 ft to me but that may be CA prices! 

Secondly, I would say stay away from your own state because CA is very hard to cash flow on rentals. 

I’m looking at investing outside of California; mainly Kansas.

I would be wary of buying a home in a residential neighborhood in ABQ with the goal of having a STR: Only CA rivals NM in terms of economic governmental tampering.

Currently I am in escrow in southern california for an A class asset that is 200k under value.

California has had statewide ADU laws since 2019.

not in Alabama, not in California. think about a down payment, closing costs, light repairs, rent ready costs, commission to the property management company, then you fix a dishwasher, then in year 2 the furnace goes. 

In California, if I want to sell my share of an inherited home to a family member through owner financing, is it possible to charge zero interest, say through a ten year pay back period or is there a minimum interest rate requirement?
