I first had a chuckle, and then I realized it's actually sad.

Under IRC Sec 61, Congress intends to tax all gains or undeniable accessions to wealth, clearly realized, over which taxpayers have complete dominion.Treas Reg Sec 1.61-1(a) provides that gross income includes income realized in any form, whether in money, property, or services.

It's like when you get a ticket, you're swamped with offers to fight it.I realize this doesn't help beyond telling you that such a method exists

I hope Colorado realizes how  much this is going to cost them in tax sale revenue.
