As you grow your rental portfolio at what point do you look for geographic diversification?

@Matthew Wilson they would give me 2% because that is what the current 30 year note is and that beats inflation or is about what inflation is.Also:1. they would have better access to liquidation2. diversification (they already have money in bondsif you were the lender, what are the downsides of investing your money as a loan for an investment property?

For me personally, I like markets with greater diversification of business.

A self-directed IRA is a diversification tool for the tax-sheltered retirement savings, and is intended to engage in passive, arm's length investments exclusively for the benefit of the IRA. 

I am a proponent of diversification and will always hold stocks, as well as RE, alternative investments and even some bonds.

Our economy is growing in diversification.

However, the other one is not.so I plan to keep buy and hold rentals and invest in syndication. seems like a good diversification strategy. just like I don't invest every dime on real estate.

Diversification is key.  

If you have a small portfolio without a great deal of diversification, I would recommend investing distributions from the note fund elsewhere to manage risk.
