I have found that's it's better to pay the price than to rely on the foundation repair company.As for the electrical, if it is in fact knob and tube wiring still in use than for sure I would have that looked at by an electrician.

One way of knowing if you can make good money is to know if your state requires a occupational license like Realtors, Electrician, Etc... otherwise any body can claim to be an inspector.

If you call 5 plumbers, 5 electricians, 5 HVAC specialists, etc. you can expect 3-4 to actually show up and from them, 2-3 will actually give you a bid.

HI and congrats on your decision, learn a lot from here join some of the local meetups (now Zoom) get yourself a good group of trades men like plumber, HVAC, electrician that will be the most important, mortgage broker ( don't depend 100% on banks) and like Carlos said a good home inspector, you can find some well train at Internachi.org or ASHI, this are national associations and have a very good requirements to be one.
