@Richard Balsam I cant figure out how to get this picture right side up, but you can see how the line on the ceiling from the fireplace to the center wall slopes downward a couple inches.

The supports are for the basement wall, which is bowing in and has a 1.5 inch crack along the entire length of it.

All nicely painted in full view.I have also seen one with 8 inch steel I beams with large steel plates imbedded in cement piers every 6-8ft around the perimeter of the basement.
