With all the anti-landlord rhetoric and hate right now, I wouldn't risk anything during advertising or screening that gets me extra negative attention.  

I would familiarize yourself with NJ's anti-eviction statute and the pertinent case law surrounding any issues regarding lease renewals, etc.

We have had huge impact due to the high response of housing providers writing their legislators and committee members, having gutted some of the worst provisions in these anti-landlord bills.  

Just like mold in a bathroom without proper ventilation, you can keep the problem at bay by wiping down the walls with an anti-mold cleaner on a regular basis.Can you break your lease and sue your Landlord?

The old landlords I bought from and my apt building buyers were simply anti-agent and like to work belly to belly.    

Not to mention the full blown corruption that is CalTrans- they are the only landlords I know of who are allowed to hike rents 10% every 6 months (their rental houses being  taken by eminent domain in Pasadena, no less).I'd say California is both anti-landlord and anti-tenant.  

It's interesting that some siblings from the same family want us to keep their dealings with us private, then again their father is VERY anti-REI.

The anti landlord rhetoric is strong and the discussion of housing being a human right is becoming more and more prevalant as covid lingers and service industry jobs keep dwindling. 

I will certainly take that over some of the obstacles faced in markets that have anti-landlord regulations/laws and rent control.
