@Mike Grudzien @Tim Delaney do you guys think it'd be worth joining a credit union in the city I used to live just to get the rate even if I'm out of state now, will they still give a better rate?

You can also appeal directly with the local tax assessor office in your city.

Does anybody have experience with that country and where is a good place to purchase, preferably out of city?

If I google his name just right, with the city he was from, there's the newspaper articles too.

SB9 was state-wide, so it's up to cities to implement.

In some of the big cities (speaking in Canada), you have people who want to live in Toronto or Vancouver, but they can't afford the rent with their lifestyle...and they don't want to move.   

Part of this is regulations in my city, but after having done it this way, I wouldn't ever want to do it with a single family home.

I plan to start my investing journey with an owner occupied multi-family in Albany or the surrounding cities.
