There's a commercial airport that makes it just a one hour flight from SFO or DEN, plus a thriving tourism/vacation rental business (ex-covid) along the Coast, an outdoor recreation mecca,  and some world class golf courses that cinch it as a somewhat well kept secret for rich golfers.

It could also be that some of the agents that you’ve worked with do not really understand investment properties, they don’t understand the numbers that go into what would make a good buy and hold or a good flight.

LAX is worse than the national average because of its large portion of international flights.

Real estate prices are getting soft in cities like that, due to COVID flight and I think it will continue.

As a flight crewmember, I’m able to travel anywhere and like the idea of long distance investing that I got from BP books and podcasts.

Some suggestions on how to think about where you might look:I wanted something that was within a 2-hour flight/drive from NYC, so on the chance that I needed to go out there, I could do so and get there and back in a dayThink about areas where you have family/close friends that either have a base knowledge of that location and/or can provide a secondary reason for you to travel thereMake sure you pick a spot that has a diversity of industry, multiple universities nearby, and a compelling price-to-rent ratio (aka, low prices to purchase relative to the amount you can rent it out for)Cheers,Brian

You guys might like the story of a literal "Air" BnB where private pilots land and park their planes and stay at my cabin and use the place as staging ground for low level recreational flights across national parks.

Simply because I fly SW most of the time, so the free flights are good...

The virus isn't as scary as everything else it affects. closed down highways, busses, cancelled flights, most businesses are closed too. its being contained quite well

I made the mistake of not having a clearly defined SOW and ended up having to do a lot of the work on my own staying up for over 24 hours in order to get the jobs done before a flight back homeAlong with that get the required jobs done first like lock replacements, lockboxes, fixing things that are broken before making updates that are cosmetic.
