Have you thought about just renting a 4–5-bedroom home and house hack it. 

Homes are sitting around 40-60 days.

I have 3 STR, all of which are at least 1 hour away from where I call home.

Typically will be rent by rent strategy (which is tough for none owner occupants) or College rental.
