Possibly be a target for further criminal activity e.g. vandalism to his belongings, break ins, threats etc.  

I don't recommend it to my clients or to owner-managers because of the threat of liens.

Account Closed so far just threats, but yes they can fine you per sign, i forget the numbers but i think it was up to $50 per sign, totally depends on the town though, i was able to find the fines online.

It's always a matter of how many degrees the relatives are and the threat they pose to pursue their interest(s).

@Gerald W mcgee  I think the bigger threat to those that try to wholesale houses without buying them and or that don't purely assign contracts is the states cracking down on unlicensed activities as we are seeing in Ohio  and Florida etc .. especially those wholesalers that try to tie up listed properties and fail to perform... the RE agents get pretty miffed with this activity and it will only take a few to start filing complaints
