My parents were teachers and never were able to give my brother and I much of what they would've liked for us to have.

For example, we had guests book under a parents name than we of course had issues with them so they faked some things to try and get a full refund.

I'm attempting to help out a friend's parents who are about to lose their home to back taxes.Is the process as simple as quit claiming the deed to me and then I pay the taxes and hold the property until they pay me back?

I heard that the greater than 1 year holding is based on how long my parents held it, not based on how long I held it.

My mobile home is built better than my parents stick built home.

This can work - I personally would be very careful using my parents equity and start small but everyone has different risk tolerance.

I wish I had a parent or someone who could walk me through all the ins and outs like rich people do.
