Banks are required to report any transaction $10k+ for routine terrorist / criminal activity checks.Sounds like a pain, going in and paying like in 1952, but shouldn't matter.

It depends on the rep at the branch, you need someone who's experienced with rental properties as they'll likely have experience on the rental end AND the owner occupied end.Genworth is of course a good option too if it's actually CMHC and not the lender that's being a pain.

I would try and avoid the 203k loan option, from what ive experienced by just looking into it, it can be a HUGE pain in the butt.
