Make sure you price out ALL of the activities that your super currently does and make sure you are not cutting off your nose to spite your face.I know supers who get 100 percent free apartment with extra paid for side jobs, so I think you are making out pretty good.

If I listened to everyone that told me to be "realistic", I would be sitting in a cubicle right now and my kids would be picking their nose in a daycare. 

I've offered to return half their security deposit if they'll just leave, but they turned that down.I'm torn between feeling like I'm sticking my nose where it doesn't belong and feeling like I'm just protecting the property. 

Stained/sealed concrete or ceramic tile with regular grout sealing would be the most durable.Same, ceramic tile counter tops with unsanded ground with a hardwood bull nose stained/painted.

Nothing seems too major, but certainly an eye sore that most people would instantly turn their noses up at.
