Around you there is the Black Diamond meeting in Waltham (2nd location in Worcester which might be good to hit as well if you are looking to invest out there).

We are looking at other investment opportunities and diamonds are one of them.

That Rockland meeting as well as a meetup in Plymouth and the Black Diamond meeting in Waltham (2nd location in Worcester), which is superb, and there is a group in RI.  

At our last Black Diamond in Waltham, the topic was buying a property occupied by the previous owner who had been foreclosed on. 

Collateral can come in many forms...The real estate, other real estate, your house, brokerage account, gold, diamonds etc etc.  

Also, there are a number of great networking events around the Boston area, including the Black Diamond event (next one is tomorrow night), Success Real Estate Investor (I haven't been to this before but will be attending Wed's meeting in Boston), and you're always welcome to join my quarterly networking event in Woburn.   

There are definitely deals out there, but as a new investor it's tough to know how to recognize that diamond in the rough.
