On December 18th staff from The SEC recommended changes to the accredited investor definition.  

Once you get to 2 to 3, set up a time to visit their offices and meet the staff.  

The only insight/opinion I can impart is that when I was shopping for and eventually bought my house in Q3 2013, it was the same story.

A savvy investor should seek a platform that specializes in a certain state or locale and truly has the staff and expertise to evaluate the risks of investing there.

We found these types of properties and clientele over the course of a year actually take double staff time with tenant lease enforcements and maintenance issues and a whole list of reasonsI may be a little jaded I owned many like these in the past and the managed them so I took my licks pretty bad so I don't advise anyone to take these types on unless they know what they are getting into
