I think guests hardly ever damage things intentionally, but when you have luggage coming in and out all the time and little kids running around a "new place," there IS a lot more wear-and-tear, scuffs/dents/scrapes, and broken glass.

You have the right things to analyze here, but STR might be a tall order to do arbitrage unless you have the funds to go heavy on the furnishings.

Even with a significant 50%-60% down payment seems like the purchase price would have to be in the 170-180K range, which is a tall ask for those areas in 2024.

@Maria T. all the properties I own are within about 10-15 miles of eachother and where I live.

But current search functions or magnifying glass is inefficient.
